Beijing-style Braised Pork with Brown Sauce

Beijing-style Braised Pork with Brown Sauce

Beijing-style Braised Pork with Brown Sauce is a traditional Chinese dish made with thinly sliced chunks of pork belly, simmered in a thick and fragrant brown sauce. The pork is slow-cooked until it becomes tender and absorbs all the flavors of the sauce, which includes soy sauce, sugar, rice wine, ginger, garlic, and other spices. This dish is usually served over a bed of steamed rice or noodles and garnished with green onions or sesame seeds. It is a favorite comfort food in China and is also popular in Chinese cuisine around the world.
