  • 2 tbsp doubanjiang (spicy bean paste)
  • 2 tbsp fermented black beans, rinsed and minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 tsp Sichuan peppercorns, ground
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch, mixed with 1 tbsp of water to make a slurry
  • 1/4 cup chopped scallions, green parts only
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
